The Ongoing Collection Is Still Ongoing

The ongoing collection is continuing (and it’s up to story #7: “Favor”), so if you do want to read the stories online as they’re written, you can still do that, too!

This Week, Next Week

Ha! I had things I planned to publish this week, but here’s my quick note to say that they’ve all had to be put off until next week. A thing I really thought wouldn’t eat up my life this last week is happening and it’s just impossible for me to get everything done that I need to get done right now.

So, stories (It’s a Love Nest, “Folly,” the first After the Heat collection, and a surprise Wolves’ Heat story for Mason and Five that’ll be published individually) are still coming, as are the Mage in Love episodes, but most of it will have to wait until next week! I do have the Mage in Love episodes ready to go, but I just don’t have the time to proofread like I should and that means I also have to wait before I hit publish on those too. Maybe I’ll get some time tomorrow for that? We’ll see.

Coming Soon! A New Canton Republic Short Story

I’m so excited to finally have a (one of the) New Canton Republic short stories just about ready to go. :D

Here’s the thing. I originally set out to write a certain short story, but it didn’t cooperate. It became a longer short story, and I kept having to hold it back because I wanted a short story, dammit. But then I realized I was deluding myself. It wasn’t going to be a short story.

It’ll probably end up a novella, but I’m still unsure about that. :D I had to set it aside because I really wanted to write a New Canton Republic short story!

So I started another short story in the series and that’s the one I’m talking about now. :D

Get ready to revisit Gregory and Thrace from Of Magic and Mating in It’s a Love Nest! I’m just so excited for this one, and I hope you will be, too! :D

After the Heat: Wolves’ Heat Stories Will Be Released As Ebooks in 5-story Bundles

I’m super sorry to every one of you who has been reading the After the Heat stories on Kindle Vella, but due to the change in terms on the platform, I had to make the call to remove the collection from Vella.

However, that’s pretty good news in the long run because it means I can put the stories out in bundles as ebooks which you can buy and keep! :)

The stories will be back on Amazon soon, but they’ll also be available on other retail sites, too. The price will be the same as the cost of the ongoing collection that I sell through Laterpress: 5 stories for $2.99.

If you want to keep up with the stories as they’re published, buying access from me to read on Laterpress is going to be the way to go, but if you want an ebook, then picking up the 5-story bundles on one of the retailers is going to be your best choice. :)

I do have another Wolves’ Heat story upcoming in the collection, and I hope to have the first 5-story bundle published within a week or two!

Because Mage in Love is an ongoing story, I don’t have any plans to remove it from Vella, despite the change in terms. I don’t want to leave any of you hanging on an incomplete story! Mage in Love is a true serial story so it’s fundamentally different than the After the Heat stories, which are complete individual short stories.

New Short Story! “Favor” In After the Heat: Wolves’ Heat Stories

I just published a new (surprise) short story in After the Heat: Wolves’ Heat Stories. I say surprise, because I didn’t know I was going to write this one, and it definitely surprised me when I did. :)

“Favor” revisits Salvadore, from Salvadore’s Luck, in the early days of his life with the Wolves.

Anyway, you can find it in the collection in the usual places.

“Scratch”, a New Wolves’ Heat Short Story, Is Available Now!

There’s another new short story in the After the Heat: Wolves’ Heat Stories collection!

This one is called “Scratch” and it’s another one for Brendan (and Trey) set early in their life together. You can certainly consider it a follow-up to “Claw”.

Get it from me and read it on Laterpress, or read it on Kindle Vella when it goes live there. :)

Also coming in the next few days are some new episodes of Mage in Love.

That’s not all that’s coming this week! I have another completed Wolves’ Heat short story that I’ll be putting into the collection, and new episodes of Mage in Love.

It’s gonna be a busy couple of days for me, and I hope some fun reading for you! :D

Anyone waiting on the short story for the New Canton Republic series that I hinted at a while back are finally going to get to see it soon. I’ll probably write more of them, because I really love my New Canton universe! :D

The original story for this title was published as “Claw” (the third story in After the Heat: Wolves’ Heat Stories). The second story for this title was published as Cam and Rick Play Dirty (a.k.a. Bel and Reed’s Long Night). But finally there’s a story for this title that stuck!

That would be this one. It’s not quite “after the heat” in the same sense the previous three stories are, but it is an after the heat story. You’ll see what I mean if you read it. :)

If you do, I hope you enjoy getting to know a little more about Mason’s twin brother, Marcus. I certainly did, and I really enjoyed getting to write it.
