Quick Update

I got sick after my family’s Christmas party and everything kind of fell to the wayside. I’m finally feeling a bit better, and I’m going to get the book up this week. I’m really sorry for the delay!

I’ve been so careful to avoid getting sick with Covid that I think I forgot for just a little while that Covid isn’t the only thing you can catch at a family gathering around the holidays when children are around. Anyway, I started to feel better last week, but my energy levels have just been the worst and I ended up having to give myself just a bit more time to get enough energy to do anything remotely productive.

I’ll go back and update the release date post with the correct release date after I get the book up, since I’m going to do it as quickly as I can this week, but I’m not sure if that’ll be tomorrow, Thursday, or Friday. I’m running out of energy fairly quickly the last few days so I need to give myself a little leeway.

Of Relations and Ships Has a Release Date!

Book cover image for Of Relations and Ships (New Canton Republic, book 7)
Blane wanted a monster to call his own. But the monster that wants him might be more of a monster than even Blane’s ready for…

Of Relations and Ships will be releasing a little later than I wanted, but I’ll be putting it up on December 27th! It’ll be going up on all the usual places.

Because of the holidays, some retailers might have a bit of a delay making it available, but it should be available somewhere on the 27th. Amazon, almost certainly, and I suspect that’s where most of you will pick up the book anyway, so that’s good news. :)

I really wanted to get it out before the holidays started, but I just wasn’t able to get it ready in time. It’s possible it could be early, but with the holidays slowing everything down, it’s really not likely.

I hope this is good news for those of you who’ve been waiting for this book!

Also, the Wolves’ Heat short story, Devon and Kem Under the Mistletoe (a.k.a. Ian and Craig’s First Fight) is available and there is a new episode of Mage in Love! (Mage in Love will tie in to the New Canton Republic series … eventually. It might take a little while to get there, though.) :D

Will’s Hope Update

The chance of Will’s Hope being a March release has pretty much disappeared. I mean, it’s not impossible, but it’s not likely either. Two health issues this month have put me back, and I’m just going to plan it for April. I’ll post an April release date for the book either at the end of the month or early in April. Thanks for the patience. :-)

New Release! Of Love and Zembores

Of Love and Zembores is finally available! It can be read as a standalone, but I have no idea why you’d want to do that. It’s going to be so much better if you’ve read the other books. :-)

The book is starting to show up in stores now, and I’ll be updating this post later with more links, but right now you can get it at Google Play and Smashwords. (And Amazon and Apple now too, and Barnes & Noble and Kobo.)

About Of Love and Zembores (A New Canton Republic Novel)

Ben’s just trying to make a living the only way he knows how, but nothing’s been going right for him lately, and now he owes a dangerous criminal more than he can pay. He’s only got one thing left to sell that’ll even come close to getting him the zembores he needs to clear his debt.

Vanost is one of the aliens everyone calls monsters, and he wants what Ben’s selling with a desperation he’s never felt before. Vanost isn’t averse to using his power and wealth to get Ben into his bed, but he’ll give Ben a choice. Of course he will. He’s not a real monster.

Ben’s ready to bargain, and Vanost is willing to give up anything to make the deal. There’s just one little problem. Ben’s a liar and a thief who can’t be trusted. But that’s okay, because Vanost is a Yeeru crime lord with a few secrets of his own…

A story of the New Canton Republic, where magic is determined to put an end to the ages old conflict between humans and the aliens who share their world….

This story contains explicit male/male sex, graphic language, and sexual situations that some people might find offensive. Romance for anyone who likes hot alien shapeshifters, fated mates, and a futuristic world where magic is often more trouble than it’s worth!

This is the first book release of the year for me, and frankly I wasn’t even sure I’d have one after the way this year started! But I do, and I’m pretty excited about it. I really love Ben and Vanost and I have an extra special reason for that that I’m not going to tell. ;D But I bet if you read it, you’ll be able to tell me why.

And holy crap, but I just realized this is my longest monster book ever! I mean, not my longest book ever because that honor goes to Mason’s Regret, my last book, but this is my longest New Canton Republic book.

If you buy a copy and read this one, I really hope you enjoy it! :-) I am super happy with it, to be honest, and I really hope it’s not just because I’m thrilled to have written a book this year. ;-)

The main book page for Of Love and Zembores is the best place to check for up to date links. I will be adding to them when I can.

And truly, if you’ve stuck with me this long, I am SO appreciative!

Of Love and Zembores is coming soon!

By soon, I mean Of Love and Zembores is coming within days. It’ll be going up Tuesday in some places and the rest of the places where my books are usually available in the days that follow. Of course, I’ll post links when I have them, but give it until Tuesday before you start to wonder if I’ve missed the date. :-) Sometimes things don’t appear quickly, and with the holiday, it could be a little longer than usual. (I’m really not sure.) (Yes, it did say Monday but ah, the holidays.)

I’ll announce the release here on the site as usual as soon as it’s gone up! :-)

As soon as the Of Love and Zembores release is all done up, it’s back to work on Will’s Hope (the next Wolves’ Heat book) which is coming along nicely! At this moment in time, I am actually thinking it will be a 2018 release. No, really! I’m not kidding! I really think it will be. Will has been so awesome to write about and I am much further along on this book at this point than I expected to be earlier this year.

Finally some news about the next book

Good news, I think. :)

I’m feeling pretty good about having Of Love and Zembores, the next New Canton Republic novel, ready by the end of the month. If not then, then shortly thereafter, but I’m going to stick my neck out here and say that it’ll be out by the end of the month. Maybe the last day of the month, but I think I’ll make it.

It’s not a promise, just a heads up, because I think we’re all a little happier if I don’t set a firm date and then miss it. :)

In other news, I’ve finally realized that I was possibly fighting a serious bit of depression this last year and that is why my publishing schedule between books has gotten so long. It’s funny how you often don’t recognize these things for what they are until you’re looking back on them.

I’m back writing on a regular basis now and I’m happy to say that I think I’ve finally put that behind me. I’m very hopeful that this means I’ll go back to a schedule more suited to getting out some of the many, many books I want to write. I’ll just have to see how it goes!

If you’re here reading this, thank you for sticking with me despite the slow progress on some of these stories! You are much appreciated. :)

New Release! Mason’s Regret

Mason’s Regret is my latest book! It’s starting to show up in stores now, and I’ll be updating this post as soon as I’m confident it’s available in a few more places, but YAY! I’m so f*cking excited I can’t stand it.

I love this book! (I love them all, I swear, but this one is definitely right up there at the top.) If you pick up a copy and read this one, I seriously hope you love it, too.

And oh my God, this one is long. It’s my longest book ever, actually. So, enjoy. :-)

Google Play has it, it’s coming up on Amazon in fits and starts, and you can always count on Smashwords to be live right away. :D

I’ll update the main book page for Mason’s Regret with more links as the book becomes available in other stores.

Here’s the description!

Mason’s Regret (A Wolves’ Heat Novel)

Once every three years, humans become sexual prey to a species that has no control over the urge to mate because of a devastating attraction to human scent.

It’s been three years since Mason and his twin brother were caught inside the American Protectorate and held as prisoners by the aliens everyone calls “wolves.” Mason’s brother hasn’t been the same since, and neither has Mason.

Now heat season has come again, and for reasons Mason doesn’t understand, his brother has gone back into the protectorate—and he needs Mason’s help.

Mason’s past is full of mistakes, but leaving his brother to deal with trouble alone isn’t one he’s going to make again—no matter the cost. But when wolves start howling nearby, there’s only one sane thing to do: run.

Except the only path to safety is through a terrifying alpha wolf who wants to claim Mason as his mate…

Book 8 in the Wolves’ Heat series.

Romance for anyone who likes hot male/male loving, alien mates, and a strong dose of alpha romance!

Here’s the cover! And a second cover just for fun

I’m getting everything together for the new book so still expecting/hoping it’ll be up really soon. Hopefully tomorrow. I will post immediately after the book goes live with the usual links and I’m really hoping you’ll like it. :-)

Here’s the official cover for the book. The description is at the end.

Bookcover for Mason's Regret

It’s blue. Since I love blue, betting on blue would’ve been a smart bet. ;-)

HOWEVER…

There was a cover war and I had a really hard time passing up the chance to use a slightly different look. In the end, I decided to stick with the style everyone’s used to seeing for this series. But I really want to share the alternate cover so I’m including it here just for fun!

An alternate book cover for Mason's Regret

It might not fit well with the series, but it totally fits the story, IMO.

And you know how you’re not supposed to eat at your computer? Please don’t do that. It does not always turn out well. :D

Anyway, on to the description!

Mason’s Regret is coming next week!

Mason’s Regret is coming! It’ll be out probably late in the week next week, but sooner if I can swing it (fingers crossed!). There’s a greater chance than usual that I might be right about this but I’m trying to build in a little extra room for the unexpected. But I wanted to update for those who’ve been waiting incredibly patiently for this book so I’m going ahead and announcing it. :-)

I’m sorry, as always, that I write and publish so incredibly slowly sometimes. You can bet if I were able to speed up, I’d do it in a heartbeat because I have so many stories I want to write and make available to you. But sometimes it just takes a while.

Also, fair warning, this book is the longest one yet—on par with Cam’s Fortune. I don’t even know how that happened but the fact that it did end up that long sure did slow things down for me. Long books are not my natural speed. :D

That said, this is a meaty book, if I do say so myself. If you skipped Gerald’s Lot, I suggest you read it before you read Mason’s Regret, because this one really follows that one even if the timeline overlap is more like Ian’s Choice and Devon’s Gamble instead of that of a direct sequel.

Now I’m going to take a short break from the long-form writing and put a little time in on my R’H’ani Chronicles series and breathe a bit. They’re short and I do love writing them so much!

After that, I haven’t decided which series I’ll tackle next, but I have several novels started already and I’m sure it’ll be one of them. If you have a preference other than Wolves’ Heat, let me know! I might use that to help me decide. :D

Anyway, I’ll get the cover and description up this week, I think, and maybe even a bit of a teaser from the book. There’s plenty of book to take it from, that’s for sure. ;D

And to everyone who has been so incredibly patient with my slow writing, thank you so much! I really do appreciate it. I keep thinking things are going to settle down in a way that lets me put in more time and then it just doesn’t happen. But I’ll keep pushing for that and maybe soon I’ll be able to write at a speed more in line with the years when I was able to put out 4 books in a year. I’m not giving up on the dream!
